How often can I get a facial?
Typically, every 4 weeks in recommended. Depending on your skin care goals, coming in every 2 weeks may be more beneficial. Be sure to ask your esthetician for a specific recommendation.
Can anyone get a facial?
Facials can be performed on any skin type to treat an variety of conditions and concerns. There are some contraindications that may prohibit you from getting a facial such as; open wounds, sunburns, severe acne, colds or the flu, bacterial infections, recent injury, facial cancer or unstable blood pressure.
Will my skin be red after a facial?
The increase of blood flow and exfoliation may cause some redness that can last for couple of hours. However, it’s important tell your esthetician about any sensitivities and/or allergies to avoid over stimulation and irritation.
Are chemical peels painful?
No, PCA chemical peels are not painful. However, a warming or tingling sensation during the application process is normal.
How much will my skin slough after getting a chemical peel?
Your skin will not peel in sheets but some flaking is normal, especially for dryer skin types. The most peeling you will experience would be some dryness/flakiness typically where the skin is thinner (around the nose and mouth and on the tops of the cheeks are the most common areas). Peeling starts 2-3 days after your service and lasts 2-3 days.
